Our 2005 Summer DAY Camp Program…    

Camp Rainbow Ridge- for children with Diabetes

Co-ed ages 7-14

 Our Camp's goal is to promote the "normalcy" of diabetes among the campers. The camp focuses on fun, playing sports, swimming, making crafts, nature, cookouts and field trips, rather than diabetes.  

Children will learn more about their condition and how to control and cope with diabetes, while making new friends. Emphasis is given to creating a warm atmosphere of caring and cooperation. 

Nurse on staff. Maximum 12.

 We emphasize SAFETY ,Fun and Education at Rainbow Ridge Farm.  Campers will learn the importance of team work and cooperation.   While Having Fun and making new friends.

Our Experienced Camp counselors and Instructors will offer your child the opportunity to have an educational and memorable camp experience.   

We limit our Camp Enrollment to provide your child with a smaller,friendlier,environment. 

Our Goals

·         Provide a stimulating, safe, fun, environment for campers and staff 

·        Support an appreciation and respect for nature 

·         Encourage campers in reaching their highest potential and enhancing self-confidence

·         Reinforce independence in children's approach to life, while taking home new skills to enrich life year-round 

·         Teach techniques for good diabetes self management

·         Promote better understanding of diabetes and how it affects the body

·      To provide an enjoyable camp experience to children with diabetes

·         Helping children with diabetes to meet others for friendship and peer support

Our Camp room is Air-Conditioned.

All of our Staff is Trained and Certified in CPR.

We have opened a Campers Corner in our Tack Store ,for Campers to purchase inexpensive Toys and Candy.

*Field trips and  dates are subject to change.

*Camp T-Shirts must be worn on all field trips.

 

 

Typical Camp Day… 

8:30 am. Campers arrive promptly to discuss and start that days activities.

9:00-11:30 Campers rotate between their Arts and Crafts, and activities.

11:30-12:00 Lunch Break and rest.

12:00-1:00 Campers will go to the pool to swim. (weather permitting)

1:00-3:30  Sports, Archery, Petting Zoo, Scavenger Hunt, and more..

(activities maybe changed without notice)

Camp Hours: 8:30-3:30 (Mon.-Fri.) 

If Needed before and after camp care will be available from 7:00 am. to 6:00 pm. (additional fee of $6.00 per day)

We have a very friendly family like relaxed atmosphere and we will change around activities as needed in accordance with the weather. We also take votes from the campers as to what games or activities they want to do. Because we feel Summer Camp should be Fun.......

What you will need to bring with you.

Campers will need to wear clothing that can get dirty or even stained or ruined. because having fun can be messy.

An extra set of clothes (shorts and a shirt) and sneakers, a Water bottle, a clean towel and bathing suit everyday for swimming and water games , suntan lotion and a disposal camera (optional), also a bag to store your stuff in. (please label all your belongings with your name, to avoid confusion).

Campers  will need a bagged lunch, drinks and snacks. (refrigerator available). We also have drinks, snacks and Ice Cream available for purchase. Every Friday children can purchase 2 slices of Pizza and a drink for $3.00.

Most Important thing of all bring your smile and be ready to have fun..........
